World Voice Day is a worldwide annual event dedicated to recognizing the human voice's boundless limits. The aim is to spread the excitement of the voice phenomenon among people, researchers, and other funding agencies.
The day revolves around contributions made by head and neck surgeons as well as other health professionals who encourage the youth and elderly alike to assess their vocal health and take steps to maintain good voice habits. Frequently, something as familiar as our voice is quickly dismissed. World Voice Day reminds us to safeguard this essential device we rely on every day so that it stays with us throughout our lives.
Our voice is the conduit of the human experience. Each one of us lives in unique ways, and our voice helps that word be understood.
This observance is a chance to explore the endless fields that the human voice touches. Each field, from biology and physics, all the way to music and poetry, has a direct effect on each other. No matter what our language, we celebrate our voices as something that all cultures have in common.
This is the one day you don't have to feel uncomfortable about singing out loud in public. Let your voice be understood as you step outside, belt out your best yodel-hooo, and let your voice be heard.
#WorldVoiceDay is a worldwide movement that celebrates all things vocal. Using the hashtag #WorldVoiceDay, users can be as vocal as possible.
History
World Voice Day, which was established in 1999 as Brazilian National Voice Day, found its roots in 1999. It became a rallying cry for speech-language pathologists, singing teachers, and medical doctors who were members of the Brazilian Society of Laryngology and Voice.
The day soon began to spread to Argentina and Portugal, making it International Voice Day. The American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery officially recognized the occasion, earning it the distinction of World Voice Day by 2002.
