The International Year of Pulses, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), 2016 was designated as the International Year of Pulses. The United Nations General Assembly designated February 10th as World Pulses Day in December 2018. On February 10th, 2019, the first-ever World Pulses Day was held. The United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development links the significant food day to the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
