- At least once a year, the common public should be encouraged to get a regular checkup of their blood pressure
- To encourage the people with hypertension on a global basis, go to their health specialist for a regular checkup and proper care
- To help all the common people, especially youth and young people, maintain their normal weight, normal blood pressure, healthy eating, regular physical fitness, and others
- To encourage people to quit their unhealthy habits such as alcohol, lazy routine, oily and fatty diet, fried and spicy diet, smoking, obese, overweight, and others
Hypertension is a common symptom of elevated blood pressure. The force of blood flowing through your blood vessels is always too high. Hypertension is often described as the "silent killer" because it has no signs and can go unnoticed and untreated for years.
- About 4 out of every ten adults over the age of 25 have hypertension, and in several countries, another 1 in 5 have pre-hypertension
- Hypertension is a common problem among adults over 80 years of age
- People with elevated blood pressure levels that are not normal are one half of the blood pressure related disease
These are the figures to watch if you have had your blood pressure checked.
- Normal: Under 120/80
- Prehypertension: 120/80 to 139/89 Prehypertension: 120/80 to 139/89
- Hypertension Stage 1: 140/90 to 159/99: 140/90 to 159/99
- Hypertension Stage 2: 160/100 or higher is the highest level of hypertension
- Hypertension Crisis: Over 180/110 is above 180/110

History
The World Hypertension League (WHL), a member of the International Society of Hypertension, is a member of the International Society of Hypertension (WHL). The day to raise the common public's concern of hypertension is WHL. In 2005, the group launched the campaign of World Hypertension Day for the first time on May 14 in 2005, but it was moved to May 17 in 2006.
