World Bartender Day
Every year on February 24th, World Bartender Day honors the bartender, one of the world's oldest occupations. Bartenders can also display their unique skills and creations on display.
Although a bartender may seem to be a new age, they have been around since the 1400s. Some of the first bartenders lived in Europe. They were innkeepers who served spirits and ales to their guests. Jerry Thomas, a well-known American bartender, published The Bartender's Guide in 1862. It was the first drink book to be sold in the United States. Bartending was a common occupation in the United States even during the 1920s prohibition.
The number of bartenders in the country has continued to rise over the years. According to the most recent estimates, there are over 450,000 bartenders in the United States, with just over half of the country's bartenders being female. Of course, there are also bartenders in other nations around the world. However, some bartenders in the United States are different from those in the United States, and some of these differences include:
- European bartenders aren't as talky as chatty and French ones, in particular, can come off as rude
- Australian bartenders provide some of the best customer service in the world because they love to interact with their clients
- Bartenders in other countries may not know any of the classic cocktails made by American bartenders
- German bartenders never use jiggers, but Australian bartenders always do, so why not?
- Bartenders in London know more about gin and gin cocktails than bartenders in other nations
No matter how many differences there are between bartenders, one thing is the same. During a night out on the town, Bartenders are often everyone's favorite person.
