When is World Lymphoma Awareness Day?
Friday September 15thOn September 15th, World Lymphoma Awareness Day is dedicated to informing the public about cancers of the lymphatic system.
The lymphatic network is a large network of vessels that make up our lymphatic network. They branch out into every organ of our body. Lymph, a colorless, fluid found in the vessels, is a form of lymph. This intricate network of fluid and vessels acts as a transport system transporting lymphocytes. These specialized white blood cells fight infection.
When lymphoma develops, it attacks the lymphocytes, making it difficult for our bodies to fight infection. These cells are found throughout our body, not just in our lymph nodes. Lymphocytes live in our bone marrow, spleen, and blood.
There are more than 30 types of lymphoma, including Hodgkin's lymphoma and non-Hodgkins lymphoma.
