When is Veterans Day?

On November 11th, Veterans Day honors military veterans who served in the United States Armed Forces. On the 11th day of 1918, Germany's Armistice Day and Remembrance Day coincides with Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, which commemorates World War I. Initially, the United States observed Armistice Day as well. However, in 1954, it was renamed to the present Veterans Day.

In addition, all federal employees receive holiday pay on Veterans Day. However, those who are required to work receive holiday pay in addition to their salaries.
