Members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) group today have a long tradition of volunteeringism in their communities. Not only have they served their country, but they continue to support their fellow veterans, spouse, and families by offering scholarships, career fairs, mental health services, and many other essential programs.
Since its inception, VFW membership has been instrumental in the establishment of the Veterans Administration, the establishment of the national cemetery system, and the passage of the GI Bill. Veterans are honored veterans and serve their families in their communities through the VFW. On National VFW Day, take a moment to appreciate all the VFW does in your neighborhood.
