Henry David Thoreau (July 12, 1817 – May 6, 1862) lived his life as an author, naturalist, historian, and historian. He was also known to be a tax resister, abolitionist, growth critic, and surveyor. Walden, his book, is a retrospection of simple life in natural surroundings.
The observance encourages people to take a step back and consider how to simplify our lives in our fast-paced, ever-increasing lifestyles.
