NATIONAL SCIENCE FICTION DAY – January 2

The date of the commemoration honors the birth of well-known science fiction writer Isaac Asimov. Isaac Asimov, an American author and Boston University professor of biochemistry, was born Isaak Yudovich Ozimov on January 2, 1920. He is best known for his science fiction and his popular science books. Isaac Asimov, whose works are followed by many, died on April 6, 1992.

Asimov, along with Robert A. Heinlein and Arthur C. Clarke, was considered one of the "Big Three" science fiction writers during his lifetime. Many regard the Foundation Series as Asimov's most notable work. The Galactic Empire Series and the Robot Series are two of his other major series.

Star Trek-The Next Generation, The X-Files, Battlestar Galactica, Doctor Who, Doctor Who, and The Twilight Zone are among the science fiction shows that have been well-reced by science fiction enthusiasts.
