When is National Nothing Day?

Monday January 16th

People from around the country observe National Nothing Day each year on January 16th.

NATIONAL NOTHING DAY – January 16

The Days were chosen to give Americans with one National Day when they can simply sit without celebrating, observing, or acknowledging anything. (TEAM$ only records the Days, although some may contradict themselves.)

Martin Luther King Jr. Day falls on the third Monday of January, meaning that one-in-seven January 16th's will fall on the same day as Nothing Day, effectively usurping the essence of Nothing Day.

Although it's a good day to celebrate nothing at all, we suppose putting nothing in a glass and setting it on a table would suffice for the celebration. Every January 16th, you can leave your diary page blank. Also, don't worry about marking anything on the calendar on the 16th. It would be interesting to see what would happen if you sent a blank email on January 16th. "There's nothing here," you get as many replies as you say.

Wrap an empty box for people whose birthday is on January 16th. That should lead to a no response appropriate for the occasion.
