Where nachos began

The popular and loved nachos were first introduced in 1943, and they are of Mexican origins.

Ignacio "Nacho" Anaya invented the first nachos in 1943, according to History. At the El Moderno Restaurant in Piedras Negras, Nacho was the maître d', according to his uncle. A group of US Army wives stationed at Fort Duncan in Eagle Pass came into the restaurant one evening after the kitchen staff had left.
