When is National Cheesesteak Day?

Friday March 24th

On March 24th, not only celebrates a delectable sandwich but it honors one of this country's greatest debates; who invented this delectableness?

NATIONAL CHEESESTEAK DAY – March 24

It's like March Madness for a cheesesteak. At 10 AM, Pat's and Geno's square off at 10 AM, followed by Chubby's and Dalessandro's at 11 a.m. At Noon, Jim and Tony Luke's at Noon. Basketball fans know how brackets work. Someone is going to get a bye.

Pat Olivieri, a hot dog vendor from the 1930s, is given the credit. Pat's King of Steaks is still on location and is still going strong, according to Philadelphia's tourism website. This writer has had a cheesesteak from there and would return in a heartbeat.

On a hoagie roll, the most important thing is this delectable, juicy sandwich. The roll is loaded with chipped steak, and you can order it with or without cheese and onions. You can only get an authentic one in Philly if you've never had one. Go where you can. Other places try, so go where you can. But, go to Philadephia someday. It's the real deal.
