What is World Kindness Day?

We are encouraged to spread kindness like an infectious cold on November 13th, as part of World Kindness Day. Because studies show that when others observe kindness in action, they are more likely to do an act of kindness. We want to share it more than ever.

So, imagine if you went out for the day and your neighbor's garbage can had tipped over. You pick it up and return it to the corner rather than ignoring it and allowing the wind to make a mess. Three other neighbors smile and nod as they walk to work.

On his commute to work, one of those neighbors notices a stranded driver on the side of the road. He remembers your thoughtfulness and offers assistance to the stranded driver. Several passersby take note.

A woman struggles with a paper jam in a company's office. She's had a rough day. The customer is still waiting, but she recalls the stranded driver she passed earlier in the day. The customer allows the office employee to take her time. Anyone can have a bad day, but this stops it from getting worse and may even make it better.

We all have the ability to enhance each others' lives by education and kindness. Our ability to express our humanity should have no limits, whether it's a friend, a family friend, coworker, or stranger.
