What is School Principals' Day?

On School Principals' Day, remember to take the time to thank the school's academic leaders on May 1st.

These educators pledge to guide our young people to a prosperous future through the school year. They support and guide quality teachers and staff, resulting in safe learning environments for our children. A principal teaches elementary, middle, or high school, while still being approachable. Many students see their principals as role models.

Principals lead academic achievement and set the tone for a whole school. They are a visible leader in most settings, and students and teachers see daily.

Principals are relying on teachers to ensure that the schools have the correct equipment and resources. They also rely on principals to advise and discipline students when necessary. A principal represents the school at community events and meets with superintendents and community members, as well as local residents.
