What is National Walk To A Park Day?
A neighborhood's backyard is a public park and green space. They provide nearby residents with a place to play, collaborate, and enjoy the outdoors' benefits. We're encouraged to walk to our local parks on October 10th, which is why National Walk to a Park Day is on October 10th. Feel the wind on your face. Take in the fall weather. Visit with neighbors. Play with your children. And, of course, appreciate all the benefits that green spaces provide communities.

Parks are an important part of improving public health. They provide a place to play, exercise, and commune with nature. They promote equitable and flourishing communities. Communities are also shielded from the climate change's impacts. Despite this, 100 million people, including 28 million children, do not have access to a quality park within a 10-minute walk from home.
This is not only a green space celebration, but it is also a call to action for cities to ensure that everyone around the United States has access to a quality park within a 10-minute walk of their house.
As part of this national day, walk to your local park and encourage your neighborhood to invest more public parks and green spaces.
