What is National Roots Day?

On December 23rd, National Roots Day encourages families to explore their family roots, roots, and ancestry.

It's a good time to gather family information each year during the holidays. While families gather around the table sharing tales and memories, someone is certain to be the family historian. A grandparent, parent, aunt, or uncle may have already started a family tree and will share it with other family members, which is entirely likely.

When is National Day of Listening? Gather photos – and get them organized before memories fade. After a decade or two, names, addresses, and dates became fuzzy. Every generation is involved in the struggle to involve every generation. Share challenges and triumphs. Document stories from one generation to another. Each generation is made up of the previous generation's experiences, travels, failures, and triumphs. They help us to be who we are today, but they do not help us to be who we are today. They help us to be who we are today.

It's often fascinating to learn about our ancestors' lives; where they came from, their struggles, and their accomplishments. It's a blend of everyone on the family tree that helps to make the person we are today.
