What is National Nut Day?
On October 22nd, National Nut Day is celebrated annually. This day is not about the neighbor who lives down the street or the co-worker who sings with their headphones on. It's a food holiday in the United States, and it's a healthy and nutritious snack.

Nuts are a highly prized food and energy source, and they are a key source of essential nutrients for both humans and wildlife. Many of them are used in baking, eaten raw, sprouted, or roasted as a snack dish, and pressed for oil that is used in cookery and cosmetics. For the most part, nuts' fats are unsaturated fats, including monounsaturated fats.
Many nuts are also rich in protein, folate fiber, and essential minerals such as magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, copper, and selenium, as well as selenium.
Nuts are essential to animals, especially those in temperate climates, as they store acorns and other nuts during the fall and early spring.
