The dark chocolate barons are given the gold medal for nutrition. Milk chocolate bars on the calories are high in calories due to added sugar and fat. The calorie count keeps increasing, as well as the popularity of milk chocolate in baked goods. We don't forget, we add it to specialty coffee drinks and other beverages, too.
In fact, we've been adding milk to chocolate beverages since the mid-17th century. Daniel Peter invented milk chocolate in 1875 by mixing a powdered milk made by Henri Nestlé with the alcohol. Ever since, milk chocolate heaven has been a hit.
