What is National Leadership Day?

The importance of leadership is set aside on National Leadership Day to celebrate leadership's importance. Every year, on February 20th, we recognize the impact that leaders make in people's lives as they continue to educate themselves and others.

If you think about it, one person in every relationship has influence on another, whether it be a parent or child, spouse or acquaintance, student or employee, employer or employee. Someone is leading or influencing the other to do something or become something in our daily interactions with one another. This means that anyone can be a leader, whether you have a title or not.

We know that leadership is about change – for yourself, your families, your productivity, and your employees – when we talk about leadership. To lead well, you must accept your desire for continuing education so that you can be the best leader you can be.

The observance aims to encourage people to assist others and be change agents and difference makers in someone's life. On National Leadership Day, we have the opportunity to show people what it means to be a good leader and inspire them to be a positive agent of change in another person's life.
