What is National Go Fishing Day?

On June 18th each year, we are encouraged to drop a line in the nearest stream, pond, lake, or river. It's a relaxing challenge to switch from our daily routine to bait a hook and catch some fish.

For those that don't provide food, fishing is a recreational pastime. Conventions, laws, licensing limits, and regulations restricting the way in which fish can be caught are included in recreational fishing. The most common method of recreational fishing is a rod, reel, line, and hooks with any of the various types of bait or lures.

Angling is a form of angling. The act of catching (or attempting to catch) fish with a hook is known as angling. Catch and release (returning the fish to the sea to continue its life) is often the intention or appointment by law. For those that are not familiar with this method of fishing, this is the most popular method of fishing.

Hobbyists with experience in habitat, foraging habits, and migration honed their fishing skills for a fruitful fishing expedition. Some fishermen continue to follow fishing folklore by claiming that the sun and the moon influence fish feeding habits.
