Gardening on its own is therapeutic, builds muscles, and burns calories. weeding, digging, spading, planting, pruning, mowing, raking, and walking are all examples of the gardening activities that are great for muscle workouts and for burning calories.

Many of us are unaware of the amount of healthy exercise we can get when working outside in the garden. It involves a lot of walking back and forth as well as bending up and down as well as other activities. Being out in the fresh air and sunshine is also a benefit. Incorporating stretching into a gardening routine can help avoid injury, as it does for any athletic pursuit. Adding those squats will help with muscle building or maintaining muscle, and extra steps may make gardening more enjoyable, as it raises the heart rate. Gardening and exercise are both great stress relievers.
