What is National Chocolate Pudding Day?
We're all excited for a serving of this creamy dessert on June 26th each year. Chocolate pudding is loved by both children and adults alike, and has enjoyed it for generations. Chocolate pudding can also be used as a filling for chocolate creme pie, and it's usually enjoyed as a snack or dessert.

Chocolate pudding is usually made with milk and sugar, flavored with chocolate and vanilla, and then thickened with flour or cornstarch. However, some recipes do use eggs when making the pudding, but some recipes do use eggs. Chocolate pudding is a version of chocolate custard, with starch acting as a thickener instead of eggs. Both Mary Harris Frazer's Kentucky Receipt Book and Fannie Farmer's Boston Cook Book's 1918 edition include both printed recipes for the earlier version, which use both eggs and flour.
"Walter Baker's Dessert" was introduced as a chocolate pudding mix by GM (Jello) in 1934. They renamed it "Pickle's Pudding" in 1936, but they renamed it "Pickle's Pudding" in 1936.
Chocolate pudding can be made and sold in grocery stores, convenience stores, and gas stations. Jell-O by the Kraft Foods Corporation and Hunt's Snack Pack are among the popular brands.
