What is National Boy Scouts Day?
National Boys Scouts Day is celebrated every year on February 8th. Boys across America have been doing good deeds, learning survival skills, and building morale through the Boy Scout of America since 1910.
The Boy Scouts of America is based in the British Boy Scouts group, which was established in 1908 following Robert Baden-Powell's success with book Scouting for Boys.
A Boy Scout came to his rescue on a foggy day in London for American newspaperman William Dickson Boyce, who became lost when a Boy Scout arrived to his rescue. Boyce arrived at his destination after following the boy's lead. The Boy Scout refused to tell Boyce that it was a good deed because it was a good deed.
Boyce was inspired to group similar youth groups into one group. Boyce filed papers of incorporation on February 8, 1910, and the Boy Scouts of America was established.
Boy Scouts have had a major influence in the United States. Boy Scouts have served in Boy Scouts for many presidents and other dignitaries. A total of 181 Astronauts have also been enrolled in the Boy Scout program.
