Birth Mothers Day honors the biological mothers of adopted children. It is primarily by mothers who, for whatever reason, gave up their children to be raised by someone else.
This is if there was ever a contentious holiday. Birth mothers were taught to educate, to recall, and to cope. However, many mothers who gave up their children have feelings of regret and, in some cases, guilt. Many people don't want a special day. And, of those mothers who want to be remembered, they don't necessarily need a special day other than Mother's Day. They believe they should remember and be remembered on Mother's Day.
Adopted children have a high degree of anxiety over this topic from the child's perspective. A fair number of them don't want a relationship with their birth mother, adding to the heat on this day.
