What is International Yoga Day?
Every year on June 21st, the International Day of Yoga raises concerns about the benefits of this mind and body workout. It's also a day to encourage people around the world to practice Yoga.
Yoga means to unite or join. This represents the union of body and mind, and the belief originated in India about 5,000 years ago. Spiritual development was one of yoga's first goals. Mastery over the physical and mental body was another target. Two billion people around the world today do yoga, some as a form of fitness, and others to relieve stress. They have found all of yoga's health benefits, which is attributed to the yoga's increasing success.
