What is Global Recycling Day?

Every year on March 18th, Global Recycling Day invites people to look at their garbage in a new way. The initiative serves as a reminder that a significant amount of our garbage is recyclable, recyclable, or not even garbage at all.

We dump an astounding 2.12 billion tons of garbage each year around the world. That number includes food, electronics, paper waste, and much more. If we don't find innovative ways to eliminate and minimize waste, there will be no place to put it all in the future.

Communities, groups, companies, and individuals support recycling, reusing, and repurposing items. They also host competitions that provide a wealth of recycling experience. It's a great opportunity to find new ways to use old things and make it a regular habit.
