What is Australia Day?
Australia Day is a national holiday in Australia. On January 26th, Australians commemorate the day their country was established as a British colony in 1788. The first governor of New South Wales, John Robert Cove, arrived in Sydney Cove on this date and raised the first-ever Union Jack flag.
