National Wyoming Day

We recognize each state in the order they entered the union, beginning with Hawaii and ending with Hawaii on Independence Day. We feature a small part of each state's past, foods, and the people who make up the state. There's so much more to discover, we can't help but celebrate our beautiful country even more.

The 44th state to join the union, Wyoming's territory led the nation and the world in guaranteeing women the right to vote. The Wyoming territorial legislature passed a bill allowing women the right in 1869, and the governor signed the bill on December 10, 1869. Wyoming will endorse the first state constitution that guarantees women's suffrage, twenty years later. In 1870, they would be granted statehood.

Real meaning, true grit, was missing in a large open world where homesteaders had to rely on one another, man or woman. Wyoming became a state on July 10, 1890, when it was established on July 10, 1890.

It is also a world where massive towers appear to rise out of nowhere mysteriously. Whether you're looking for a unique blue sky or disappears into the fog, Devil's Tower stands out against brilliant blue skies or disappears into the mist. It can do either or both depending on the day or the mood. Explore the Native American myths surrounding the monolith's construction, hike its trails, and wonder about its occurrence.

Wyoming retells history from Fossil Butte National Monument to Fort Laramie National Historic Site. With its stunning views in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park, the state thrills and challenges visitors.

Rodeos in The Cowboy State give riders the opportunity to stretch skills in the arena and amaze audiences in the stands. Boots, jeans, and hats are recommended whether indoors or out.
