James a farley

The main post office in New York City is located in the James A. Farley Post Office Building. The building was built-in 1912 and opened for postal service in 1914, and the famous inscription survives. The James A Farley Building was officially designated as The James A Farley Building in honor of James A Farley's death. It serves as a monument and a testament to the country's 53rd Postmaster General's political career.

Both US and postal history, James A. Farley served during a difficult period in both US and postal history. The Great Depression impacted jobs and income all around the country. Under Farley's leadership and involvement in the New Deal, Post Office sales, and real estate increased. He served as Postmaster General from 1933-1940.

The inscription

Although the inscription is prominently displayed on the building, the United States Postal Service does not have a formal motto. However, Carly Simon's album "Let the River Run" was released in 2011 by the United States Post Office. The inscription's words were carried out by inspirational photos of postal employees doing their regular duties.

When is National Postal Worker Day?

Other ad campaign campaigns also speculated at the inscription's motivations. Carriers were featured in the "Watch Us Deliver" campaign, which featured airlines delivering precious parcels in harsh or difficult situations. "...faster, sleeker, earlier, cleaner, faster, faster, faster, faster, faster, faster, faster, faster, faster, faster, faster, and faster, and yes, even on Sundays."

The inscription, which was carved by Ira Schnapp, was created by the architects. It is a paraphrasedoutput: It is a motto from Herodotus' Histories that refers to a Persian system of mounted messengers under Xerxes I of Persia.
