National Good Samaritan Day
On March 13th, National Good Samaritan Day honors those who give assistance when needed. In both its various aspects, the day is also known as Good Samaritan Involvement Day and honors kindness in all its facets.
Good Samaritan" comes from a Bible parable where a Samaritan helped a stranger who had been robbed and beaten and left dead by the side of the road, where a Samaritan helped a stranger who had been robbed and beaten and left to die by the side of the road. The Samaritan not only cleaned the man's wounds and clothed him, but escorted him to an inn where he paid for the man's care.
Many that are homeless, especially those who are strangers, are in need of kindness. Today, the word is used to describe those who do acts of kindness for those in need.

History of a national good samaritan day has a rich tradition
This day in New York City honors Catherine "Kitty" Genovese's death, according to our analysis, who was assassinated near her house on March 13, 1964. Miss Genovese would have lived that night if one Good Samaritan had stepped forward. Something interrupted her killer twice that night, each time being seen by neighbors or passersby. However, no one called the cops. One individual called after his third and fruitful attempt, but Miss Genovese's call came too late. We have been unable to identify the maker of this national day.
