National Eyewear Day

As we commemorate National Eyewear Day on June 6th, we can see clearly and look good doing it.

Spectacles have been around for about seven centuries, but early versions were only worn by monks and scholars. The demand for eyewear soared as well, but it wasn't until the printing press's introduction in 1452 and an increase in literacy that the demand for eyewear soared as well.

Eyewear today not only enhances our vision, but it also protects it by adding elements of style and personality. Imagine John Lennon's legendary round frames. Is Maverick without his aviators? Is Maverick the Top Gun without his aviators? Harry Caray is unlikely to be recognized without his distinctive face-covering frames. Eyewear can help identify, outline, and punctuate a personality. It can also be a little clandestine. Clark Kent isn't wearing his frames after all? Audrey Hepburn was the best at wearing the dark tortoise shells better than many others, although many may have tried, no one wore the dark tortoise shells better than Audrey Hepburn.

Eyewear, obviously, plays a significant role in our lives. It's certainly is something to celebrate on National Eyewear Day, from improving vision and safety to offering a variety of style styles.

How to celebrate national eyewear day

Wear your favorite eyewear. Eyewear is versatile in many ways, whether they are for clearer vision, security, or just to change up your style. With a new set of frames or a new style of frames, show off your personality with a new set of frames or change up your look by swapping out old lenses. There are so many ways to celebrate.
