Not only is Alaska the country's highest mountain peaks, but it is also home to the country's highest mountain peaks, including Mt. Denali is the largest island in Denali. It's also possible to test the Bering Land Bridge's theories in The Last Frontier. Check out the remote and fascinating location of North America's history.

Alaska provided the indigenous people with enough whale fat, beaver, and fish long before Russian and European explorers discovered their way to the Arctic land.

The Land of the Midnight Sun was the site of the next major gold rush. Many will venture into the rugged North in the Yukon, hoping to find riches in the Klondike. Many that did, would find it difficult to get it back out again...alive.

The Iditarod runs 1,150 miles from Anchorage to Nome, and it takes place in Alaska. Thousands of spectators and online viewers attend the annual festival, honoring the traditions of the sled dog culture and the Iditarod Trail. Leonhard Seppala and several other mushers delivered much-needed anti-diphtheria serum to Nome along the same route in 1925.

Glaciers, fossil records, and a geology report are among the many Denali National Park and Preserve's highlights. The pristine wilderness provides hikers the most well-marked trails with spectacular views, peaceful vistas, and stunning vistas along the Alaska Range.

Venture into Glacier Bay for a glimpse of an icy blue you'll see nowhere else on Earth. Listen for the soaring mountains of ice collapsing into the bay, or search for the humpback whales breaking the surface. The bay's sights and sounds are as abundant as the past.
