World Rainforest Day is June 22nd. The day has been scheduled to help protect rainforests by raising concerns and encouraging people to protect them.
20% of the oxygen we breathe and drink is attributed to Amazon rainforests. They absorb carbon dioxide, stabilize climate conditions, and are home to half of the world's plant and animal species. Every minute of every day, an area the size of 40 football fields is lost every minute of every day, according to the organizers.
