National Safe Day

National SAFE Day, June 4th, is the opportunity to prevent tragedy from repeating itself. One of every three households in the United States has a pistol stored somewhere inside. The Brooklynn Mae Mohler Foundation is committed to eliminating senseless child deaths by education of responsible gun ownership and encouraging parents to inquire about guns where their children visit.

How many close friends does a child have? How many close friends does a child have? One of every three households has a pistol. Is it safe if one of those households has a pistol? What about family members? Is it possible for them to visit cousins or other relatives that may have unsecured weapons? Secure storage is vital to child safety and is the responsibility of the gun owner, and is essential to child protection.

One innocent child's life is not worth questioning the odds of possibility. Many ways to buy a weapon while still allowing for quick access. There is no reason to place quick access above child safety.

Parents, whether gun owners or not, must take steps to educate their children and ask the question when in homes where their children visit. "Is there any open firearms in the house?" says the homeowner.
