World Parrot Day
Wild and captive parrots around the world every year on May 31st. It's also a day to learn more about this intelligent and majestic creature.
When you picture a parrot, you probably think of a colorful bird that talks or mimics sounds. Both of these things are true of most parrots, but not all of them. And the parrots that can't talk are still considered intelligent. The African grey parrot is the most intelligent parrot. Alex, a particular species of this species, was reported to have the intelligence of a 5-year-old. Alex knew colors, shapes, and over 100 English words. Other popular parrots include the cockatiels, Fischer's lovebirds, monk eets, cockatoos, Amazon parrots, and macaws.
Around 350 species of parrots are found around the world right now. Nearly half of these species are endangered. About a quarter of all parrot species are critically endangered. Certain species have been listed as endangered due to habitat destruction, hunting, and illicit trade of wild parrots.

A group of parrots is identified as a pandemonium, which is one of the more surprising and bizarre facts. This is quite fitting, considering that the word pandemonium means wild and tumultuous.
How to celebrate #worldparrotday
On this day, the World Parrot Trust (WPT), a London-based charity, organises a number of activities. Many of these activities take place at zoos around the United Kingdom. Zoos in other countries, such as the United States and New Zealand, also encourage the public to visit their parrot exhibitions.

History of the world parrot day has dominated history
In 2004, the World Parrot Trust sponsored the first World Parrot Day. In 2004, the World Parrot Trust established the first World Parrot Day. The WPT held a parrot rally in Trafalgar Square in London on May 31st. Organizers and supporters marched down Downing Street from there. They then presented a petition that contained 33,000 signatures to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom's Prime Minister. The petition called for a complete ban on importing wild parrots into the European Union. The EU Commission declared a permanent ban on wild bird imports, including parrots, in 2007.
