Purple Up! Day
During the Month of the Military Child, the Purple Upswing has occurred. On April 15th, the military's most unsung heroes – their children – are recognized on their children. Everyone should wear purple on the day to represent all branches of the military and showing unity with each other.
Military children play a vital role in their classrooms, youth groups, and communities around the world. We let them know we support them in all branches of the military, including Army, Navy, Marine, Coast Guard, and Space Force, when they wear purple in their honor. Whether they are a member of the military family for a short time or their entire childhood, the military child needs to know they have the help of their families.

The purple up! day is a special occasion in purple history
The Purple Up! for Military Kids was launched in 2011 by the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension Military Youth and Family Program. During the Month of the Military Child, they selected April 15th as a way to honor military children from all branches of the military. Purple unified the colors of each branch of the military as one. Since then, other businesses and communities have spread the word, giving the event a boost.
