National Farm Animals Day

National Farm Animals Day, the tenth anniversary of Farm Animals Day, draws attention on farm animal care. The day also aims to find homes for abandoned and abused farm animals.

A variety of animals have been raised on farms for food and raised on farms for food. They sell eggs, milk, cheese, meat, wool, leather, and other items. A. Most of us grew up in the city or suburbs, but that doesn't mean you can't learn more about the animals that live on a farm. These are some of the best ways to introduce children to farm animals.

  • Many zoos also have a farm display that includes animals such as sheep, goats, pigs, cows, chickens, and ducks
  • Visit a petting zoo. Domesticated animals are found on a farm in these smaller zoos. They often function as a rescue service as well
  • Visit a hobby farm. Many hobby farms host times for school-age children to visit their animals in residence. They learn what they eat, where they sleep, and how the farmers care for them
  • A working farm on Tour a working farm. Many farmers are allowing school-age children to visit and learn more about farming
  • Attend a fair. Each year, counties and states host 4-H Fairs for farmers and farmer children to showcase their hard work
