NATIONAL ROOTS DAY – December 23
Sat Dec 23rd

National Roots Day

On December 23rd, National Roots Day encourages families to explore their family roots, roots, and ancestry.

It's a good time to gather family information each year during the holidays. While families gather around the table sharing tales and memories, someone is certain to be the family historian. A grandparent, parent, aunt, or uncle may have already started a family tree and will share it with other family members, which is entirely likely.

When is National Day of Listening? Gather photos – and get them organized before memories fade. After a decade or two, names, addresses, and dates became fuzzy. Every generation is involved in the struggle to involve every generation. Share challenges and triumphs. Document stories from one generation to another. Each generation is made up of the previous generation's experiences, travels, failures, and triumphs. They help us to be who we are today, but they do not help us to be who we are today. They help us to be who we are today.

It's often fascinating to learn about our ancestors' lives; where they came from, their struggles, and their accomplishments. It's a blend of everyone on the family tree that helps to make the person we are today.

#nationalrootsday is a worldwide rootsday that can be tracked by anyone

Investigate your own family's roots. With your children, share family tales. Organize those photos by clicking on the images. Asking questions is one of the best ways to encourage family members to share their family history. Come prepared with the facts you want to learn. Be prepared to listen at the same time. You never know what stories are worthy of being told. Here are some of the items you'll want to have on hand:

  • A notebook
  • Pencil
  • A tablet or computer
  • Something to record audio or video is missing from this article
  • A list of questions
  • Your family tree
  • Stories you may have missed out on. Stories you may have missed include stories you may have missed
  • Photos, especially ones that you need assistance identifying, are among the ones you need assistance in identifying
  • You can also make a photocopy that you can write on with a photosafe pen. Photo safe pen – you can also make a photocopy that you can write on

If your relative has additional photos, ask permission to make copies. If you take a picture with your phone or bring a portable scanner, those photos will help you to identify people in your collection. Match them to the stories your family member is sharing, too.
