International Artist's Day - October 25
Wed Oct 25th

International Artist's Day

On October 25th, the International Artist's Day honors artists and all the contributions they make. Pablo Picasso, one of the day's most popular artists, is also commemorated. The Spanish artist was born on October 25th, 1881.

Artists work hard to produce their art. They bring beauty to the world around us. Most artists work with many media styles. Not only that, but the word artist also refers to artists, photographers, musicians, actors, writers, filmmakers, writers, filmmakers, and others. When one is born with a creative gift, one's creativity can flow into many areas. Picasso, sculptor, ceramicist, poet, and playwright, for example.

Art existed long before written works were published. Art has circulated concepts and kept track of significant events since the beginning of time. Art has a link to the past. Artists record our past, indelibly. They also uncover truths. They tell stories and pass on traditions through their work. Artists have a special way of relating to the people around them. One of their most important jobs in a world full of bad news is to send messages of hope.

In 2004, Chris MacClure, a Canadian artist, founded International Artist's Day. Since then, October 25th has been devoted to honoring all the contributions artists have made to society.
