Arthritis is also known as joint inflammation. There are more than 100 forms of arthritis. Ostearthritis and rheumatoid arthritis are two of the two most common disorders. Although there is no cure for this disease, treatments are available. To treat arthritis, doctors prescribe painkillers, anti-inflammatory drugs, and cortosteroids injections. Physical therapy and chiropractic care can also help reduce pain and inflammation. Joint replacement or joint fusion is the only alternative for those, surgery, such as joint replacement or joint fusion.
Many people with arthritis have other disorders as well. Heart disease and diabetes are two common disorders. Some people are more prone to others than having arthritis. Family history, age, being obese, and recent joint injury are all risk factors that should be considered.
Severe arthritis is debilitating, as it becomes impossible to do daily duties and enjoy activities. In some instances, the joints become twisted and deformed.
