Girl Scouting in the United States of America began on March 12, 1912, when Juliette Gordon Low organized the first Girl Scout troop meeting. There were 18 girls attending the first troop meeting in Savannah, Georgia, on Saturday, Georgia. Juliette Gordon Low's daughters developed enrichment services, service projects, and outdoor adventures and adventures. Girl Scouts have increased to over 3.7 million members since the first meeting.

Juliette Gordon Low, also known as Daisy, was the founder of Girl Scouts of the United States and the Scouting Movement's founder, Robert Baden-Powell. Low founded a Girl Guide troop in Savannah, Georgia, in 1912, and the Girl Scouts became the Girl Scouts in 1915, with Low becoming the first president. She continued to be involved with the Girl Scouts until her death in 1927.
